With a vision to help the environment, and the connection of Rotary, regenerative farming, and tree planting took root in Zimbabwe.
0:09 Hello, my name is Giti Javidit and I’m a
0:11 Rotarian from district 5280 in Los
0:15 Angeles.
0:16 About 5 years ago, I had a vision to
0:19 come up with a project to help the
0:21 environment and save our planet.
0:24 And we were able to select Zimbabwe to
0:26 do this project for regenerative
0:28 agriculture and tree planting that would
0:31 not only impact the lives of people in
0:34 Zimbabwe but impact the lives of people
0:37 on the planet. And now I’m seeing the
0:40 fruits of five years of work and
0:43 planning. And thanks to the efforts of
0:46 World Vision, we have been able to start
0:48 this program and implement it. And you
0:50 can see what this project is doing. all
0:52 the green you’re seeing here and I’m
0:56 looking forward to coming back in about
0:58 a year to see this project already
1:01 expanded more. The beauties of this
1:03 project is that nature is so amazing
1:05 here and the perennial river that is
1:08 here is going to help irrigate and we’re
1:11 doing tree planting in many areas in
1:14 this area and we’re saving and impacting
1:17 lives of tens of thousands of people in
1:20 this area and nothing satisfies me more
1:23 than seeing how people’s lives change
1:26 and we will see this in this project.
