Makiko Nakasone is the 2023-24 District Governor and D5280’s first alumna DG. She studied at Freiburg University in Germany in 1982-83 as an Ambassadorial Scholar. Professionally she was the first English language breaking news reporter at Nikkei, the world’s largest financial newspaper, and worked both at its Tokyo headquarters and its LA bureau. In 2004, she joined the Rotary Club of Glendale, LA, which celebrated its 100 years of service in 2022. She is excited to be part of the Zone team.
