Susan served D5730 as District Governor during the 2016-2017 year. Developing international and local projects, and building relationships with communities have been a primary focus since joining Metropolitan Lubbock Club in 1998 serving as Club President 2006-2007.
Rotary has provided the privilege and opportunity to serve and enjoy Rotary Youth Exchange, hosting students for 30 years; traveling to India in 2014 to aid in Polio Immunization Days; team leader for three Rotary Vocational Training Teams to Malawi, Africa, in agriculture, textile development, teacher and medical training; projects and grant training in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Australia and Thailand; and developing a global Outdoor Learning Center in Lubbock.
Susan served as Assistant Governor 2013-2016, Vice Governor 2019-21, Chair of Rotary Friendship Exchange program and team leader to Thailand, a District Visioning Facilitator, Lone Star PETS trainer, and PETS Administrative Co-chair 2023. Susan served as Co-chair of Special Sessions for the 2020 virtual Zone 26/27 Institute and currently serves D5730 as Grants Chair and ARRFC for Zone 26.
Two special honors include District 5730 Outstanding Rotarian of the Year 2011-2012 and Rotary International’s Service Above Self Award in 2020.
Susan is retired from Textile Manufacturing and from Apple Country Orchards, a family apple orchard destination. Currently, Susan and her husband Cal operate Texas Produce.
Susan and Cal, a D5730 Assistant Governor, are Major Donors, PHS, and Bequest Society Members. They enjoy three married children, seven teenage grandchildren, travel, and reading.
